It is so pink! Of course, I remember it from my childhood. It is just a great deep, rich color. And as a kid the name sounded exotic to me. I think it is the first color name I became aware of outside the usual eight- or ten-color school crayon set. Magenta was my favorite Crayola color when I was a child. I don't like it as well now as I did then, but it's a sentimental favorite! I learned the word "magenta" (and lots of other color words) from my childhood Crayola crayons, so I think it was educational for me, too! I can still remember my first day of Kindergarten. There were shapes all over the room and they were all different colors. Blue, yellow, green, and MAGENTA?! It was a magenta heart. I had never heard of such a strange word! I think that was the first thing I learned in school and I decided that it would be my favorite color.
