It has always been my favorite since I can remember. It was the first crayon I'd have to peel the paper back to sharpen it. It is the hues of my two favorite colors - blue and purple. I was in the second grade when I found out about the Crayola 64-pack. You know - the one with the sharpener. Suddenly I realized that periwinkle existed, and that the world could be colored in so many different ways. For at least a month, everything was a subtle shade of blue-grey. I can still remember when I got my first big box of 64 crayons with the built in sharpener. I always kept my crayons arranged in color families. I don't know why periwinkle first stood out to me, but it has ALWAYS been my favorite. It's simply the perfect color!
