Scarlet just has a nicer ring to it than red. I think I chose this one as much for the name as for the color. (it has nothing to do with Gone with the Wind. Trust me.) I chose scarlet because it reminds me of fire and how alive me and my friends can be. Scarlet reminds me of the book The Scarlet Letter. There are deep emotions released in the book. When I use the color scarlet I am able to draw with emotion and feeling.
