Why
Tote your books in a totally awesome backpack that you design yourself!
Steps
- 1. Find a plain 100% cotton or cotton blend backpack to decorate. To start your design, sketch your decorating ideas on white paper with Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils.
- 2. Insert cardboard in the backpack so the color doesn't seep through. With Crayola Fabric Markers, draw your designs directly on the fabric. Use stencils you already have, create your own stencils, or draw your design freehand. Ask friends to add their autographs. Display your team and school names. Make the backpack your very own fashion statement! These markers are permanent on clothing. Crayola® Fabric Markers stain clothing and surfaces, CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED. Recap markers as soon as possible and store in a horizontal position.
- 3. Ask an adult to heat set the marker color by ironing or placing in dryer. To iron: Set iron to cotton setting and iron on the reverse side using a back and forth motion for 4 minutes. To heat set in dryer: Place garment in the dryer for 30 minutes on the hottest setting.
- 4. To prevent bleeding of fabric marker colors, wash separately in cold water for the first three times. Machine dry.
