Why
For a frightening friend, create a ghoulish Midnight Monster to hang over your bed or in the hall.
Steps
- 1. Thinking of the shape of monster you want to create. Draw the monster’s body on construction paper with Crayola® Markers. Cut it out with Crayola Scissors.
- 2. For each limb you want to attach to the monster’s body, cut two long, narrow strips of paper of the same size. Use Crayola School Glue to attach the two strips at right angles at their ends (not a straight line). Fold the bottom piece over the top, then fold the other strip over that one. Repeat until you have an accordion-folded paper. Make as many limbs as you need. Glue the folded limbs to the body. Dry.
- 3. Create hands, feet, heads, claws, and creepy body parts with construction paper. Decorate with markers. Cut out and glue to the body or limbs.
- 4. Use the tip of your scissors to push a small hole into the monster’s body, then push yarn through the hole. Tie a knot on the end of the yarn, then place a dot of glue on the yarn. Pull it up to the paper. Dry before hanging.
