Why

Frogs! Princesses! Knights! Horses! Favorite fairy tales come to life with these easy, charming finger puppets. Put on a puppet show with friends!

Steps

1. Create characters. With Crayola® Markers, color pictures people and animals on paper plates. They can be from a favorite book, country, fairy tale, or your imagination! Use Crayola Multicultural Markers for skin colors, animal fur, and other accents. Carefully tear out your figures.
2. Add hair or fur. Attach precut yarn as hair or fur with Crayola School Glue. To curl strips of paper (for an animal’s tail or hair) roll paper around a marker and then uncurl. It will spring to life.
3. Attach finger loops. Tear paper plate strips. Form loops to fit around one or two fingers. Glue the ends together. Glue loops to the backs of your puppets. Air-dry the glue.
4. The rest of the fun is up to your fingers, friends, and imagination! You could build sets with castles, costumes, musical instruments, or whatever you need to tell your stories.

Safety Guidelines

String-Like Materials—Includes string, raffia, lacing, yarn, ribbon, and other similar material. Children 3 years and younger should not be given any string-like material that is longer than 12 inches. Close adult supervision is essential whenever children use string-like material. When crafts are to be worn around the necks of children 8 years and younger, attach the ends of the “string-like material” with clear adhesive tape, which allows easy release of the bond if the craft becomes entangled or caught on equipment. For children older than 8 years, the ends of the “string-like material” may be tied and knotted.
