Why

Hang up your easy-to-make torn-paper mini-banner. Welcome a new season, holiday, or any festive time!

Steps

1. What do you think of when the seasons change? Does fall remind you of pumpkins and Halloween? Do you think of flowers when spring arrives? Make these bright banners for your room, refrigerator, or a door in your home. Here’s how.
2. Use your fingers to spread no-mess Crayola Color Wonder™ Fingerpaints on two or three sheets of Color Wonder Paper. Air-dry the paint.
3. Tear your colored paper into little pieces. Outline a seasonal shape on a large sheet of construction paper with a Crayola Crayon. Rub a Crayola Glue Stick inside one shape at a time. Glue your torn pieces of paper inside each shape. You’re making a mosaic!
4. To label your banner, write greetings or the name of the season with a white crayon on Color Wonder Paper. Ask an adult if you need help with spelling. Fingerpaint over the letters. What happens? The words magically appear! Air-dry your words.
5. Punch holes in the top of your banner. Tie colorful ribbon in the holes for hanging.

Safety Guidelines

Adult Assistance is required for this arts & crafts project.

Color Wonder™—Wash hands well with soap and water after use.

String-Like Materials—Includes string, raffia, lacing, yarn, ribbon, and other similar material. Children 3 years and younger should not be given any string-like material that is longer than 12 inches. Close adult supervision is essential whenever children use string-like material. When crafts are to be worn around the necks of children 8 years and younger, attach the ends of the “string-like material” with clear adhesive tape, which allows easy release of the bond if the craft becomes entangled or caught on equipment. For children older than 8 years, the ends of the “string-like material” may be tied and knotted.
