Why

These ornaments are "snow" pretty! Capture the sparkle of freshly fallen snowflakes!

Steps

  1. 1. Follow the directions to use your Crayola Cutter. Cut out the center of a small paper plate—or make other more intricate interior cuts--to create holes in the plate.
  2. 2. Be creative! Use Crayola Twistables® Crayons to decorate around the edges of your cut-outs.
  3. 3. Cover the holes with tape so the sticky side faces the front of the ornament. On the sticky tape, spread Crayola Glitter Glue to create a "snowy" look! Use more glitter glue to decorate the edges of your ornament. Air-dry the glitter glue on one side before turning it over to decorate the other side.
  4. 4. Cut a little hole at the top of the ornament. Insert yarn, string, or ribbon and tie. Hang your sparkling snowflake in a window or doorway for everyone to enjoy! Why not make several to decorate for the winter?

When & Where

"My school-age group made these ornaments. We hung them from the ceiling to create a winter wonderland."
- Wade B., community club crafts director.

"Our Girl Scout Troop made these ornaments to decorate a wing at the local children’s hospital. The patients and staff were delighted."
- Linda G., troop leader.

Interesting Info

When you think of a snowflake, you usually think of wintertime. Did you know that there is a summer snowflake? The Star of Bethlehem is a type of flower. The plant’s green leaves are surrounded by clusters of white flowers, giving it the nickname summer snowflake.
