Why

Measure and cut just the right size opening to mat your photos, art, and mementos! With Total Tools™ Ultimate Cutter, it’s fun and easy to make unique scrapbook pages, cards, and personalized gifts!

Steps

  1. 1. Gather several photographs or other art to showcase on your scrapbook page, card, or frame. Decide how you would like to place them together.
  2. 2. To find the exact size of your art, a ruler to measure it. Then, on the back of your picture-framing paper, draw a box about .25 inch (1 cm) smaller on all sides than your original art. Cut out the interior space with the Crayola Ultimate Cutter™. Repeat for any other photos for that page.
  3. 3. Use a Crayola Glue Stick to glue the photo to the back of the page. Decorate around your pictures with Crayola Markers. Make up captions, write a sentence about the event, or even add a poem! Include names of people and dates.

Interesting Info

Photography was invented in the late 1800s in France. The first exposures were several minutes long so people had to stay perfectly still the whole time! Today only a few people use similar techniques with film and chemistry to make prints and transparencies. Digital photography is far less messy and time consuming!

Safety Guidelines

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.
