Why

Mix a variety of Crayola art supplies and tools with your own knowledge and research to come up with an eye-catching science fair display! Use these ideas for any school or group project as well as fun signs!

Steps

  1. 1. Combine your information and Crayola art supplies to create charts, diagrams, and tables. The colors will highlight your graphics and research on any subject. Here are some tips to design your best display yet!
  2. 2. Frame printed-out information and graphics by cutting off excess paper edges with the Crayola Total Tools™ Ultimate Cutter™. Glue each page to bright paper that is slightly larger. Add colorful borders if you like with Crayola Markers, Colored Pencils, and/or Crayons.
  3. 3. Use the Crayola Cutter to cut out large letters of your title from colored paper. You can make easy, neat inside cuts in the letters. Outline the letters with bold colors to make them really stand out.
  4. 4. Use the Cutter to crop pictures and other graphics you want to include, too!
  5. 5. Before gluing your work to a tri-fold display board, experiment to find the best layout.
  6. 6. Catch attention by using curvy lines that continue on several different pieces of information, or by framing the attachments with repeating shapes or overlapping lines.
  7. 7. When your composition is balanced and eye-catching, glue your work to the presentation board. Show your display with pride!

When & Where

"Children worked together in small groups to make displays about famous leaders. Their parents were very impressed! "
- Gina R., after-school leader.

"We made a poster to celebrate a 50th birthday and we got LOTS of positive comments. Uncle Greg will always treasure it! "
- Susanna G., mother of 10- and 12-year-olds.

Interesting Info

The Crayola Cutter contains a safe, pointed tip that pops in and out very quickly to punch lots of holes in a line (called perforation). The tiny bits or paper left between the dots are easily pulled apart! The Ultimate Cutter uses a safe, sharp edge to score the paper. Use both tools for optimum effects!

Safety Guidelines

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.
