Why

Create a dazzling menorah to celebrate the Festival of the Lights. Make unique, colorful candles for your family’s Chanukah decoration.

Steps

  1. 1. With your Crayola Cutter, cut 9 strips of Crayola Color Surge™ Paper that are about 3" (7.6 cm) wide for the faux candles. Decorate the paper with bright Color Surge Markers. Roll the papers and tape them closed to form imitation candles.
  2. 2. Roll the paper around a marker barrel to form each pretend candle. Add Glitter Glue designs. Air-dry the glue.
  3. 3. Cut two shapes for the menorah base. Make the base long enough to hold all nine pretend candles. Remember, the center candle is always longer than the other eight.
  4. 4. Use your imagination to decorate the base with colorful cutout designs such as dreidels, stars, or other Chanukah symbols. Use your Cutter to make easy interior cutouts and tape more colored paper behind the cutout. With Color Surge Markers, decorate the base with borders, outline cutouts, and add fine details. Add sparkly Glitter Glue. Air-dry the glue.
  5. 5. Tape the pretend candles between the two bases. Cut and roll two paper strips to attach as feet to both sides of the base.
  6. 6. Cut, twist, and attach yellow tissue paper for imitation candle flames. Display your finished menorah on a table, mantle, or in a window.
