Why

Create the grossest cow pie imaginable! This disgusting feast for flies and worms is a perfect prank any day-especially for April Fool's Day or Halloween.

Steps

  1. 1. Mold white Crayola® Model Magic® into the shape of a cow pie. Make it round and clumpy. Add grass and leaves to add texture and make it even more realistic and unappealing.
  2. 2. Shape small flies or worms to feast on the cow pie.
  3. 3. Cover your art area with recycled newspaper. Paint the cow pie and its flies with Crayola Washable Kid's Paint and Paint Brushes. Mix paint to get gross colors. Dry.
  4. 4. Attach the flies and worms to the cow pie with Crayola School Glue. Dry. Your fun has just begun!

When & Where

"This was a delightful rainy day art project. Kids had a blast making something disgusting!"
- Kim R., teenage babysitter of 7- and 9-year-olds.

"Cow pies are definitely different art! Our cabin eagerly learned to identify various animal droppings. Yes, we made samples."
- Michael E., camp counselor.

Interesting Info

Cow pies are commonly used as fertilizer because the chemicals in them improve plant growth. They enhance the fertility of the soil. Cow pies have also been used as fuel for heating and cooking.
