Color Explosion Easter Basket

Color Explosion Easter Basket craft

Weave a roomy black and white basket using amazing Crayola Color Explosion Paper and Markers.

  • 1.

Print the Easter Basket template found in the Coloring Pages here at Crayola.com and cut it out. Now trace shape onto the back of a piece of Color Explosion Black. Make sure to copy all of the solid and dotted lines.

  • 2.

Now design the front of the page any way you like. Design a separate piece of Color Explosion White as well and set it aside. Each paper system has its own marker to use to create designs with magical, surprising colors and patterns!

  • 3.

Cut out your shape. Fold it in half lengthwise and use scissors to cut slits along the solid lines leaving about a finger’s width between the end of the line and the edge of the paper.

  • 4.

Now take your designed piece of Color Explosion White and cut it into long strips. Measure and cut to make them equal width or cut them freely to make your basket even more unique.

  • 5.

Weave the strips into the slits, going over and under like a pattern. Be sure to weave each strip so it does the opposite of the one before it. So if the first strip went over then under, the next strip you weave should go under then over. This makes it look like a checkerboard and holds all of the strips in place.

  • 6.

After all have been woven, use a glue stick to fasten loose ends on of strips both sides.

  • 7.

Fold up the sides of your basket. Use a glue stick to attach the sides to the tabs. Let dry.
