Choose a plain pillowcase made of 100% cotton or cotton blends. Cover your art area with white paper. Place your pillow case on the paper. Place cardboard inside it, so the marker color doesn’t bleed through the other side. Decorate right on the fabric! Use these theme ideas, or create your own. To make an Earth pillow, use Crayola® Fabric Markers to draw a large circle in the middle of your pillowcase. Color the continents and oceans. Decide what figures you will use to circle your Earth: friends, endangered species, or anything else you imagine. Draw figures on cardboard with Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils. Use Crayola Scissors to cut out the patterns. Use fabric markers to trace and repeat the patterns around the edges of your Earth. Color figures.

To make a bug pillow, draw a large daisy or your favorite flower in the center of your pillow. Color the flower. Decide what will circle the flower. Maybe cute bugs, beautiful butterflies, or busy bees? Draw the insect on cardboard. Cut out your pattern. Trace and color insects.

Fabric Marker designs must be heat set by an adult. Set iron to cotton and iron on the reverse side using a back and forth motion for 4 minutes. Or place pillow in the dryer for 30 minutes on the hottest setting.

Slip the pillowcase onto a pillow or stuff and sew it shut. To prevent bleeding of fabric marker colors, wash items separately, in cold water, for the first three times. Machine dry.
