A Desert Springs to Life
Create lively desert scenes with Crayola® Color Wonder™. Kids' hands and fingers double as printing stamps—and stay mess free.
1. What's in a desert? Plants, animals, sand dunes, an oasis, camels, nomadic peoples? Use your imagination to create your own arid scenes. Here are a few suggestions.
2. To make a cactus: Color your first finger with a green Crayola Color Wonder Marker. The clear ink won't color on your skin. Quickly press your finger Crayola Color Wonder Paper. Make several imprints for tall cacti. Add prickly spines to the cactus with Color Wonder Markers.
3. To make a lizard: Color the side of your smallest (pinky) finger with a Color Wonder Marker. Press the colored side of your finger onto Color Wonder Paper. Draw short legs and bulging eyes.
4. To make a sandy landscape: Color the part of your palm below your thumb with a yellow Color Wonder Marker. Press it onto Color Wonder Paper around your desert creatures. Color and press your palm several times to create sand dunes.
5. To make a hot desert sun: Color a circle on the flat front of your thumb with an orange Color Wonder Marker. Make a thumbprint in the sky of your picture. Add sun rays with Color Wonder Markers.
6. To make a snake: Color the tips of your fingers with Color Wonder Markers. Press them in a row on Color WonderPaper. Draw a long red snake's tongue and beady eyes.Wash your hands well with soap and water after you complete your project.
