Boo! To You

Why

Friends and grandparents will be thrilled to receive this handcrafted Halloween card. This Boo! card has more than a ghost of a chance!

Steps

1. Using Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils, draw the outline of a ghost (or any scary creature) on a recycled file folder. Cut it out with Crayola Scissors.

2. Fold a piece of construction paper in half. Place the ghost cutout on the paper. Using a Crayola Twistables Crayon, rub color all around the cutout onto the paper. Rub out about as far as your fingernail is long. Color around the entire ghost. Lift the cutout to see your ghostly image. Add eyes and a mouth.

3. Lay your ghost cutout on top of the first one at a different angle so they overlap just a bit. Repeat your color rubbings for a second ghost.

4. Use a small piece of paper towel to rub crayon color from the center of the design outward so the edges are slightly smudged-for a ghostly look.

Safety Guidelines

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.

Interesting Info

People who believe in ghosts insist that ghosts can smell things and especially love the smell of lemons. They believe that ghosts have a huge sense of humor, are pranksters who love to get a row out of us, and love it when humans laugh!
