Calypso Dancers

What do calypso dancers look like? Make your art reflects their joy as they respond to sound with expressive colors and shapes.

1. Play danceable music with your friends. Watch the shapes that you make with your bodies while you dance.

2. Cover your work area with recycled newspaper. Using Crayola® Washable Kid's Paint and Brushes use lines and shapes to show the way you moved to the music. You might choose colors that are bright and bold (red orange yellow) for happy energetic music or colors that are calm and quiet (blue green violet) for soft slow tunes.

3. Make your lines and shapes into dancing figures by adding arms and legs. Include props that your dancers might use such as hats or maracas.
