Circus Animals & Performers
Remember the thrill of your first circus? Bring elephants, tigers, and clowns into the center ring of kid's imaginations and get ready for a really big show!
1. Lay down a file folder down with the fold at the top, or fold thin cardboard in half. The fold is like a hinge for stand-up characters, and will always be at the top of a person's head, or across an animal's back.
2. Draw circus characters from around the world with Crayola® Washable Markers. Some animals are easier to create if you draw the body on the fold, draw the head separately, and then cut and glue the head to the body.
3. When the characters are drawn, color them in with markers. Then cut them out with Crayola Scissors, but be careful, because you're cutting through two layers of heavy paper in order to make your creation stand!
4. Glue the two layers of cardboard together from the fold down to wherever the legs begin. After the glue has dried, open up the legs to form a sturdy base.
5. After all the animals and performers are made, find paper or plastic cups, small boxes, or Crayola Model Magic to use as props for your great circus!
Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project.
