Diploma in Hand

Why

Preserve graduation memories with a handmade photo frame. These are so easy, you can make frames for the whole class of graduates!

Steps

1. Graduation is an exciting time of change. To remember the day, make a photo frame for yourself and others to give as gifts.

2. Using Crayola® Scissors, cut a piece of cardboard larger than your graduation photo.

3. With Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils, trace around the frame on construction paper. Lay the paper on a bumpy surface such as sandpaper or bricks. Rub with Crayola Twistables to create a textured effect on the paper.

4. For a layered effect, draw another paper frame slightly narrower than the first frame. Use a contrasting color of Twistables or a different textured surface to create a double-matted look.

5. Attach the papers to the cardboard with a Crayola Glue Stick. Glue the photo in the center.

6. On separate paper, draw and color graduation symbols such as a mortarboard or diploma. Write the year of graduation. Cut decorations out and glue them to the edge of the frame. Air-dry the glue before wrapping up your gifts for the graduates.

Interesting Info

Did you know that until about 100 years ago diplomas actually were made on sheepskin? Many documents were done on animal skins because papermaking was too expensive and very difficult.
