Easter Egg Tree

Why

Holiday trees aren't eggs-actly just for Christmas anymore! Celebrating spring and Easter with an egg tree is a natural when you have creative kids.

Steps

1. Roll Crayola® Model Magic® into egg shapes. Creatively decorate with other colors of Model Magic and/or with Crayola Washable Markers.

2. Partially unbend paper clips. Poke the point in the ends of the damp Model Magic eggs for hanging. Dry.

3. With an adult to accompany you outdoors, find a broken tree branch. Anchor the branch in a container such as a vase or recycled coffee can filled with stones. Wash hands thoroughly.

4. Decorate the container if you like. Hang eggs on your tree for display.

Where & When

"How clever! We're keeping our tree to decorate with Model Magic ornaments for other holidays."
Leon K., father of two kids ages 5 and 7.

"We placed our branches in clay pots that we painted in Easter colors. These Egg Trees were a big seller at our spring craft show."
Roseanne M., PTO member.

Interesting Info

Why does Easter have a different date each year? Before Emperor Constantine issued the Easter Rule in the year 325, the holiday was celebrated on any day that fell after the first full moon of spring. Constantine declared that Easter be celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox, or first day of spring. With this rule, Easter is always celebrated on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25.
