Family Fireplace Fun
Where’s your favorite cozy spot on a winter evening? Maybe in front of a fireplace with your pets?
1. On cold winter evenings, what does your family like to do? Go ice skating? Gather around a fireplace to toast marshmallows? Read stories or listen to music? Create the setting for your idea of the perfect winter evening in a shoe box.
2. Cover your art area with newspaper. Use Crayola® Washable Kid’s Paint and Paint Brushes to paint your box diorama, inside and out. Air-dry the paint.
3. Craft people, furniture, and a fireplace with Crayola Model Magic. Air-dry everything at least 24 hours. Paint all of your figures and accessories. (You could also use colored Model Magic.)
4. Use Crayola Rainbow Twistables to draw braided rugs, colorful scarves and blankets, and a fire in the fireplace or a bonfire, for example. The red, orange, yellow, and red-orange colors change as you color, making them look ever so real. With Crayola® Scissors, cut out each piece.
5. Decorate the inside of your diorama with Crayola Washable Markers.
6. Use Crayola School Glue to hold items in place inside your winter scene. Air-dry and enjoy!
Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project.
