Festive Fish Visor

Why

Fun is what making this hat is all about. There are plenty of fish in the world!

Steps

1. Hold a large file folder lengthwise over your head. With Crayola® Crayons, ask a friend or family member to mark a sun visor shape. Use Crayola Scissors to cut out the shape.

2. Cut a wide slit in the sun visor so that you can slip it on your head.

3. On construction paper, draw and decorate a fish tail with crayons. Cut out the tail. Glue it in the middle of the hat, in front of the slit, with a Crayola Glue Stick.

4. Draw, decorate, and cut out fish gills and glue to the sides of the hat. Draw eyes, lips, and other features and designs on your fish hat.

Safety Guidelines

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project.

Costumes & Masks— CAUTION: When children wear hand-crafted costumes and masks, make sure the crafts do not obstruct the child’s vision, hearing, or impede movement. Do not use feathers, fabric, or raffia on wearable costumes and masks because these items do not pass costume flammability tests. Wearable masks are those held in place on the face with elastic, yarn, or other materials. Keep away from open flames.

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.

Interesting Info

Colorful clownfish can safely swim, eat from, and even sleep on the poisonous tentacles of a sea anemone without any harm. The clownfish keeps the sea anemone clean and chases off its enemies.
