Fiery Fireworks

Why

Fireworks are used around the world to celebrate special occasions. Remember an ahhh-some show, or create your own Fiery Fireworks!

Steps

1. With fireworks, communities celebrate in a big way! Not only do fireworks display amazing colors and shapes, they proclaim their presence with loud bangs and booms.

2. On black construction paper, draw a fireworks show with Crayola® Gel Markers. Fill the night sky with bright color and sparkling light. Show glowing rockets zooming through the dark, and sparks cascading toward earth.

3. In the foreground, include yourself and other spectators enjoying the show. Dress people in clothing for the season and country where the show is taking place.

Safety Guidelines

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.

Interesting Info

Not counting the time to make fireworks, it takes 2 days to set up fireworks for a 22-minute show. Each firework has its own name like gold-brocade-to-red-butterfly or green-peony with silver palm core.
