Flash a Neon Mini-Sign
Get your message across with an optical illusion. Neon colors on a twirling sign are sure to make your point!
1. Did you know that your eyes hold an image for a couple seconds (it’s called the persistence of vision)? When you see different images in quick succession, they seem to blend into one image. Here’s a fun way to use this optical illusion to flash a message.
2. Use Crayola Scissors to cut a recycled file folder into a rectangle that’s twice as large as you want your sign to be. Fold the rectangle in half. Open it, so you have two squares.
3. Draw a different picture and/or write words in each square with Crayola Neon Twistables®. For example, one square might have Birthday with balloons. The other might say Happy with confetti falling. Fold the sign so the decorated sides show.
4. With Crayola School Glue, sandwich a straw between the backs of the two signs. Air-dry the glue.
5. When you twirl the sign between your hands, it will flash a very festive Happy Birthday!
