Glittering Foil

Why

Dazzle your family with this decorative, flashy foil art.

Steps

1. With Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils, draw a design on white paper.

2. Lay the design on a slightly larger piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Place the paper and foil on top of corrugated cardboard.

3. With a toothpick, punch holes through the paper and into the aluminum foil to outline your design. Remove the paper to reveal the hole-punched foil.

4. Add color to your foil design with Crayola Markers.

5. Finish your design with sparkling touches of Crayola Glitter Glue. Dry.

6. Use Crayola Scissors to cut a slightly larger piece of construction paper for a frame. Attach your Glittering Foil to the construction paper with a Crayola Glue Stick.

Interesting Info

Foil is made with a metal that has been pounded or rolled very thin. The first foil was made from tin. Aluminum replaced tin in 1910. One of the first uses for mass-produced rolled aluminum foil was wrapping chocolate bars. What a sweet job!
