Holiday Tree Wallhanging

Why

Trim a woven-paper Christmas tree with bright Crayola Slick Stix™ and Glitter Glue! Decorate for your holidays with this one-of-a-kind banner.

Steps

1. Evergreen trees have long been signs of winter. Weave this festive Christmas tree banner to hang in your office or home.

2. Measure and cut two different colors of construction paper into six long strips each. Glue the ends of six strips, alternating colors, to another sheet of construction paper.

3. Weave the remaining strips in and out of your glued strips, alternating colors as you go over and under. When all strips are woven, glue your weaving to a backing paper.

4. Fold your weaving in half, with the strips on the inside. On one side, use Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils to sketch a large Christmas tree that covers as much of your weaving as possible. Place the middle of the tree on the fold. Cut out your tree. Unfold it.

5. Slightly curl the ends of your tree branches for a 3-D look. Glue any loose sections. Glue your tree to posterboard.

6. Decorate your tree with Crayola Twistables® Slick Stix™ Super Smooth Crayons. Add bright ornaments to the branches. Create a festive holiday border around the wallhanging if you like. Personalize it with a holiday message such as "Happy Holidays, Grandma!"

7. Trim your tree with Crayola Glitter Glue sparkles. Air-dry the glue.

8. Your wallhanging is ready to give as a gift or to hang for the holidays.

Mica M., mother of 10- and 12-year-olds.

"Our class made enough tree banners for every room in our local nursing home. The staff and residents were delighted for this personalized touch. "
Brenna C., church youth volunteer.
