Ice Cream Sundae

Why

Everyone will scream for ice cream after they design a classic sundae. Bright Crayola Color Wonder™ colors and creative kids are the perfect recipe for this pretend delight.

Steps

1. Choose your favorite Crayola® Color Wonder™ Fingerpaint colors. What colors will your pretend dish, ice cream, sauce, whipped cream, and cherry be? Paint Color Wonder paper with those colors.

2. Tear your painted papers into shapes for your sundae. Glue your imaginary Ice Cream Sundae on a contrasting sheet of construction paper with Crayola Glue Sticks.

Where & When

"Our son is allergic to milk. He and his friends made dream banana splits to play ice cream parlor."
Javier D., dad of two children ages 3 and 5.

"What a fun craft for our neighborhood barbecue. Afterwards, the kids made real sundaes."
Nirmah G., mom of two children ages 4 and 6.

Interesting Info

The ice cream sundae was invented by a soda fountain merchant attempting to get around a law prohibiting the sale of ice cream sodas on Sunday. He took out the soda, added only the syrup, and changed the spelling to sundae out of respect for those who observe the Sabbath on that day.
