Jumpin' Jean Jacket

Why

Make a fashion statement with your personalized denim jacket! You'll wear it everywhere!

Steps

1. Choose a 100% cotton or cotton blend jacket. Take a close look at the design of your jacket. Decide where you'd like to decorate it, what colors you prefer, and a theme if you wish. Sketch your design ideas on paper with Crayola® Erasable Colored Pencils.

2. Cover your art area with newspaper. Use Crayola Fabric Markers to draw your designs directly on the jacket. Put cardboard inside the jacket so the colors do not bleed through to the other side. Use colors that show up well on the denim. Use stencils or draw your design freehand. Remember, these fabric markers are permanent on clothing. Crayola® Fabric Markers stain clothing and surfaces, CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED. Recap markers as soon as possible and store in a horizontal position.

3. Ask an adult to heat set the marker colors by ironing or by placing your jacket in a clothes dryer set on the hottest setting for 30 minutes. To iron: Set an iron on "cotton" setting. Cover the ironing board with newspaper. Iron on the reverse side of your designs, using a back and forth motion, for 4 minutes. Cool before wearing.

4. To prevent bleeding of fabric marker colors, wash items separately in cold water for the first three times. Machine dry.
