Keepsake Baby Bib

Celebrate a baby’s birth, christening or baptism, first birthday—or any special occasion—with a bib. Guests can sign and decorate it for memories that last far beyond the day.

1. Babies always drool and slobber! Why not make several bibs for everyday and one as a keepsake gift for a special day?

2. Choose baby-sized, 50/50 cotton/polyester or 100% cotton T-shirts. Ask an adult to help you use Crayola® Scissors to cut away the sides and sleeves. Leave plenty of fabric so you have a bib surrounding the neck ring. For fancy bibs, cut curves or designs in the edges.

3. Use Crayola Fabric Markers to decorate each bib. You could trace around baby’ s hand and record the date. Guests could sign and decorate the bib, too. Crayola® Fabric Markers stain clothing and surfaces, CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION IS REQUIRED.

4. Ask an adult to heat set the color so the bib can be laundered. Set an iron on cotton and iron on the reverse side with a back and forth motion for 4 minutes. Or place the bib in a dryer for 30 minutes on the hottest setting.

5. Be sure to take lots of pictures!

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.

Costumes & Masks— CAUTION: When children wear hand-crafted costumes and masks, make sure the crafts do not obstruct the child’s vision, hearing, or impede movement. Do not use feathers, fabric, or raffia on wearable costumes and masks because these items do not pass costume flammability tests. Wearable masks are those held in place on the face with elastic, yarn, or other materials. Keep away from open flames.

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.
