Mummy Door Knob Decorators

Wrap a mummy from head to toe with unique Crayola® Gel Markers! Decorate door knobs in dazzling colors.

1. Find fascinating information about mummies in ancient Egypt. How were they preserved? In what were they wrapped? Why are kids and scientists so curious about them today? Decorate your door knobs for Halloween or any time with these mummies.

2. Fold black construction paper in half lengthwise. On one half, draw a mummy with Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils. Criss-cross back and forth over the mummy using the Erasable Colored Pencils until it looks like it is all wrapped up in cloth.

3. Cut out your mummy with Crayola Scissors.

4. Trace the mummy on white construction paper. This time, criss-cross its covering with pastel Crayola Gel Markers. Cut out the second mummy.

5. With a colored pencil, draw the curved top part of a door-knob hanger on black construction paper. Make it large enough to fit around a door handle and at least as wide as your finger. Cut it out and trace another one on white paper. Cut it out, too.

6. Use your imagination to decorate your Mummy Door Knob Decorators and their hangers.

7. Optional: To make a two-sided hanger, decorate opposite sides of the paper mummies and glue them together with a handle sandwiched in the middle.

Scissors—ATTENTION: The cutting edges of scissors are sharp and care should be taken whenever cutting or handling. Blunt-tip scissors should be used only by children 4 years and older. Pointed-tip scissors should be used only by children 6 years and older.
