Music on the Move

Why

The rhythms of music are a natural for lively dancing. Kids delight in imagining how their favorite instruments might move if they could dance.

Steps

1. Listen carefully to music that you enjoy. Notice how your favorite instrument sounds. What kinds of movements do these sounds remind you of?

2. With Crayola® Crayons or Markers, draw your favorite instrument on white paper.

3. Now, imagine how that instrument might look if it could dance to its own music. Give it arms or legs, and draw it in action.

4. Add a background or costume to make your instrument show its true personality.

Safety Guidelines

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project.
