Patriotic Quilt

Why

Celebrate your country's holidays! Remember famous leaders and events with national symbols.

Steps

1. Collect pictures and information about symbols of your country. For the United States, for example, you might find a bald eagle, flag, Liberty Bell, presidential seal, and photographs of leaders. Choose several designs for your quilt.

2. Divide construction paper into different-sized sections with Crayola®Total Tools™ Write Color Pencils and a straight edge.

3. Draw, then color, the symbols of the country that you chose.

4. Draw and color strips of construction paper. Cut them out. With a Crayola Glue Stick, attach them on the dividing lines of each section to create a quilted appearance. You could also use them to frame your Patriotic Quilt.

Interesting Info

One of the most famous symbols of the United States is the Liberty Bell. It was built in 1752 and cracked the first time it was rung. You can find the bell on display in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
