Pet Portraits
Picture your pet! Do you have a hamster? A cat? A parakeet? Use crayon resist to show off your favorite creature!
1. What pets are part of your family? How often do you include them in a family portrait? Here's a way to do your own pet portrait!
2. Follow you pet around for a while. Watch how it moves. Does it have a tail? Fins? Fur? Scales? Beak? What markings does it have?
3. Draw your pet with Crayola® Crayons on paper. Show its body parts, its colors, and the texture of its skin or fur.
4. Cover your art area with newspaper. Use Crayola Washable Watercolors and Paint Brushes to show your pet in its favorite place. Does it have a cage, bowl, or bed? Crayon wax resists watercolors, so your pet will shine in its surroundings.
