Play Money & Wonderful Wallet

Why

Count on creative fun with Crayola® Color Wonder™. Kids spend hours making pretend paper currency and their own billfolds!

Steps

1. Ask an adult for permission to look at pictures on paper money. What numbers, pictures, and words do you see?

2. To create your own pretend paper money, fold at least one piece of Crayola Color Wonder Paper in half, joining the short sides together. Fold it in half again, joining the short sides. Fold it in half once more, joining the long sides. Carefully unfold your paper. Bend each fold in reverse to make strong fold lines.

3. You now have eight rectangles on each paper. In each rectangle, design a make-believe paper bill using Crayola Color Wonder Markers. Draw a picture of yourself, someone you admire, or your favorite animal. Write numerals on your bills to show how valuable they are. What other designs can you add? Decorate them all the same, or design each one to look different!

4. When all your imaginary bills are designed, carefully tear the paper on the fold lines to separate them.

5. To make a wallet to hold your pretend money, fold a piece of Color Wonder Paper in half, bringing the short sides together. Fold it in half again, bringing the long sides together.

6. Tape around the short ends of the folded paper. Bring those ends together, folding your wallet in the middle. Decorate your wallet with Color Wonder Markers. Place your paper money inside.
