Rainbow Art-Saver Box

Why

How can you organize your beautiful art? Pizza boxes do the trick! They’re just right for storing paintings, collages, and other precious papers.

Steps

1. Each new school year means a fresh start. What will you do with all of your beautiful art and prized homework papers? Save them! Here’s how to make a fun, safe place to keep your future masterpieces!

2. Choose enough construction paper to cover the top of a clean, extra-large pizza box. Draw a label with Crayola® Rainbow Twistables™. Mark the year, your name, and other information you want to remember. Design your Art-Saver Box cover with the fun, ever-changing Rainbow Twistables hues. You might make a bright border, stripes, dots, or whatever design you like!

3. Attach your decorated paper to the pizza-box top with a Crayola Glue Stick.

4. Decorate the sides of the box with your Rainbow Twistables. Make it look as creative as the art you’ll put inside. You could even decorate the inside of the box! Every time you open it, you’ll see your bright colors!

Where & When

"Why didn’t we think of this? I’ve used plain pizza boxes for years. They are so stackable and the stuff inside doesn’t get smashed."
Arabella S., mom of 6-, 9-, and 10-year-olds.

"This project was the perfect ice breaker. Several kids made a box for each school subject."
Lane K., after-school volunteer.

Interesting Info

Most museums only have about 40% of their holdings (items in their collection) on display. The rest of their objects are in storage or out on tour visiting other museums.
