Sparkling Gift Box
Give a generous gift in a gorgeous package! Create your own sparkling, personalized gift boxes with Crayola Color Explosion™ white paper.
1. This project uses three sheets of white Crayola Color Explosion™. For best results, follow the directions for using your Crayola Cutter. From the back of one sheet, cut it in half vertically to get two long pieces to form your box. Fold each piece in half horizontally. If you like, make cutouts in the sides, such as little windows, snowflakes, or other designs. Only the Cutter makes clean interior cuts!
2. Turn the paper over. Decorate the sides of the gift box with Color Explosion Markers and the black outline marker. Attach the two pieces along their short edges with Crayola School Glue to form a gift box.
3. Cut a square from another sheet of Color Explosion™ paper to fit the box bottom. Save the extra pieces. Glue the bottom in place.
4. Fold the third sheet of Color Explosion™ in half for the roof, which sits loosely on top of the box. Cut two triangles for the areas under the roof. Decorate the pieces and attach them with glue.
5. Highlight the gift box in glittery accents with Crayola Glitter Glue. Air-dry the glue.
6. Add sweet touches by cutting out and decorating festive shapes such as candy canes or menorahs. Attach them with self-stick dots to the outside of the gift for a 3-D effect! Punch holes and tie colorful ribbon. Fill the box with tissue paper and then place your present inside. What a special presentation you can make!
Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.
Glitter Glue—
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD—Small parts. Not for children under 3 years. Not for use on skin.
String-Like Materials—Includes string, raffia, lacing, yarn, ribbon, and other similar material. Children 3 years and younger should not be given any string-like material that is longer than 12 inches. Close adult supervision is essential whenever children use string-like material. When crafts are to be worn around the necks of children 8 years and younger, attach the ends of the “string-like material” with clear adhesive tape, which allows easy release of the bond if the craft becomes entangled or caught on equipment. For children older than 8 years, the ends of the “string-like material” may be tied and knotted.
