Starry Names
Constellations have universal appeal! With Starry Names, kids see themselves in their rendition of a starry night sky.
1. Look at pictures of constellations, or watch the night sky. Notice that the constellation images in the sky are a series of stars that are visually connected much like a connect-the-dot puzzle.
2. To make your own Starry Name, fold black paper in half. On the front, use lightly colored Crayola Gel Markers to make a series of closely spaced dots to spell your name. Enlarge the dots to look like stars.
3. Include smaller stars, as well as planets, in the areas around your name, using additional colors.
Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.
