Very Versatile Vase

Why

Handmade gifts are a delight to make and receive! Kids arrange dry or silk flowers, feathers, or other lovely items in their Very Versatile Vase.

Steps

1. Roll Crayola® Model Magic® into a long coil. Create a flat base and then wrap the coil into a vase. Mold the neck and poke your finger into the vase to enlarge the opening.

2. If you like, roll thin coils or shape bits of Model Magic to decorate your vase. Press objects into the vase to add texture. Dry.

3. Cover your work area with newspaper. Paint your vase with Crayola Washable Watercolors and Watercolor Brushes. Dry.

4. Fill your vase with a beautiful arrangement of dried items such as flowers and feathers.

  • Do not make into vessels/containers that will hold unpackaged food.

Interesting Info

In the Tewa language, spoken by people who live in six Pueblos near Santa Fe, New Mexico, there is no word for art. Making pottery, painting pictures, dancing, cutting wood, and baking bread are all seen as work, thoughts, and expression.
