What's Inside the Letters?

Why

Can you tell a story on just one page? With just one word? Here’s a colorful way to tell a story---or write a letter ---INSIDE a word!

Steps

1. Think of a story you’d like to tell. You can also write a letter, poem, or a thank-you note using this cool idea. With Crayola Color Wave™ Fine Line Markers, outline really large letters of one word that describes your story. Could it be EXCITING, MYSTERIOUS, or FUNNY?

2. Fill the letter outlines with words to tell your story or message. Keep writing until all of the letter outlines are full.

3. Illustrate your story with line drawings that repeat your letter shapes.

Safety Guidelines

Adult supervision is required for any arts & crafts project. Observe children closely and intervene as necessary to prevent potential safety problems and ensure appropriate use of arts and crafts materials. Some craft items, particularly beads and buttons, are potential choking hazards for young children. Avoid use of such small parts with children younger than 3 years. Craft items such as scissors, push pins and chenille sticks may have sharp points or edges. Avoid use of materials with sharp points by children younger than 4 years. Read all manufacturers' safety warnings before using arts and craft supplies.
