Making friends is an important social skill. Children can celebrate the joys of friendship with a homemade gift.
Use Crayola® Washable Markers to make a design on the construction paper, covering the whole sheet front and back. OR use Crayola Scissors to cut out a design from construction paper, glue it on top of another piece of construction paper with Crayola Glue Sticks, and let dry before you add a pattern.
Fold the decorated paper back and forth into accordion-style folds all the way across the paper. While the paper is folded, cut small shapes into both sides of the folds. Be very careful not to cut all the way across the fold, or you will cut off part of the fan.
Open the paper carefully and add details. Squeeze Crayola Glitter Glue at the top edge and allow it to dry before continuing.
Use Crayola School Glue to make a small line along the bottom edge of the fan. Pinch the base of the fan together and clip with a paper clip or clothespin until dry.
Remove the clip and tie a ribbon around the base in your friends' favorite colors. Be creative and add other details. Make a fan for each friend.
