Shutters bang in the wind! Ghosts fly through the windows! Cats roam the creaky floors! Turn a recycled tissue box into a Halloween happening.
1.
What makes a house look scary or haunted? Could it be dark colors, ghastly ghosts, creepy spider webs, or slinking cats? Make your idea of a haunted house to decorate for Halloween or scary fun anytime.
2.
Ask an adult to help you cut the top off a recycled tissue box using Crayola® Scissors. Cover your work area with newspaper. Cover your haunted house with Crayola Washable Kid's Paint and Paint Brushes. Mix and drip colors to make them look creepy. Dry.
3.
Use Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils to draw a door and windows on your house. Ask an adult to help you cut them open.
4.
On paper, draw and color shutters to fit your windows. How can you make them look old and battered-like they bang in the wind? Use Crayola School Glue to attach the shutters to your house. Hang them at twisted angles.
5.
Create ghosts using tissues. Wrap a ball of tissue with another tissue. Tie it at the neck with string and fluff it out. Add dots of Crayola Fine Tip Marker colors for facial features. Push the ghosts through the windows and doors. Glue in place from behind.
6.
Add spiders and torn-tissue webs, snarling cats, flickering pumpkins, or other Halloween characters. Happy haunting in your House of Tissue Terrors!
