Crayola True to Life tri-color tips make it easy to blend colors for a more natural look. Turn the tips while you work to create different colors with just one tool! Here are two different ways to make paper baskets.

  • 2.

Woven look basket: Cut a strip off the side of a piece of paper lengthwise to make a handle. Fold the remaining paper in half to make a basket. This style basket is perfect for younger basket-makers!

  • 3.

Decorate the basket and handle with True to Life Crayons and Markers. Draw lines to make the over and under patterns and textures you see in real baskets. How textured can you make the basket look? It’s faux, but nobody will know!

  • 4.

Glue the sides of the basket closed. Attach the handle to the top. Air-dry the glue and then fill your basket with goodies to share with a friend!

  • 5.

Woven basket: Decorate two sheets of paper on both sides with True to Life Crayons and Markers. Let the crayons and markers help you create realistic shading and color variations with a twist of your hand or a turn of the wrist!

  • 6.

Cut a strip off the side of one piece of paper lengthwise to make a handle. To make the base of the basket, cut four slits in the paper an equal distance apart, stopping about an inch from the ends of the paper. Cut the second piece of paper into strips.

  • 7.

Weave the strips of paper over and under the slits in the basket base. Trim off any excess paper. Glue the ends of the woven strips, the sides of the basket, and the handle to the basket. Air-dry the glue.

Share your woven wonder with family and friends! Why not fill it with paper flowers?
