Proud and Patriotic Garland craft

Patriotism is more than red, white and blue. Show pride in your country by creating one-of-a-kind, decorative garlands to display in your home.

  • 1.

    Choose words that depict pride and patriotism to create a decorative garland. Some examples of words are LIBERTY, FREEDOM, AMERICA, USA.

  • 2.

    Sketch chunky letters on a piece of posterboard that spell out your patriotic word.

  • 3.

    Cut out the letters with scissors.

  • 4.

    Use either Crayola® Color Switchers™ Markers or Crayola® Heads ‘n Tails™ Markers to make creative designs on each letter.

  • 5.

    Punch holes on the top ends of each letter with a hole punch.

  • 6.

    Insert a large paper clip into the holes to connect the letters together.

  • 7.

    Cut several pieces of ribbon. Thread and tie a piece of ribbon through a paper clip on each end of the word. Tie a few more pieces of ribbon at the ends and curl with a scissor.
