Draw a colorful secret code using circles, squares, and triangles. Watch the designs pop into spectacular 3-D when you look through the 3-D glasses. Ask a friend to memorize your code and challenge them to draw the exact same code without peeking again at
1.
Use Crayola 3-D Sidewalk Chalk to draw several small shapes on a safe outdoor surface. These shapes are your secret code. You can also play indoors using black paper.
2.
To create the best 3-D effects, leave a small line of black showing between each chalk color. Place cool colors such as blue, purple, and green near warm colors such as red, yellow, and orange for maximum 3-D depth. Try on the glasses as you draw to see the effects.
3.
Ask a friend to look at your secret code. Quickly, ask them to memorize the shapes and colors while you count to 25. Then ask your friend to turn around so she or he can’t see the secret code you drew. Challenge your friend to draw the same code of shapes using the same colors. Award points for each correct shape in the correct color and order.
4.
Other ideas: 1. Try adding one additional shape each round to make the contest more challenging. 2. Include more shape options for making the code such as stars, bars, moons, diamonds, ovals, and flowers.
