Create an indoor winter wonderland with snowflakes that shimmer. Children make their own patterns for artwork that is as unique as real snowflakes.
1.
Look at pictures of snowflake patterns. They are all hexagons (six sides), yet each one is different.
2.
With Crayola® Metallic Colored Pencils, draw a circle the width of your hand on white paper. Design six "arms" on the circle, two each on the top, middle, and bottom, in any shape.
3.
Cut out your snowflake with Crayola Scissors. If you like, fold the paper two or three times. Cut out shapes from the center. Unfold to see a lace-like pattern.
4.
Decorate with Crayola Glitter Glue and the colored pencils. Dry overnight.
5.
Punch a hole at the top of the snowflake. Thread ribbon or yarn through the hole, loop, and knot.
6.
Draw several different snowflakes. Vary the "arm" shapes and ribbon lengths. Hang snowflakes from the ceiling or in windows.
