Sparkling Musical Tube

Sparkling Musical Tube craft

Kids combine visual art and music with this unique percussion instrument. Your children will sparkle as they shake to the beat of their own songs and dances.

  • 1.

    With Crayola® Scissors, cut out two circles, each slightly wider than the end of a sturdy cardboard tube, out of construction paper.

  • 2.

    Draw designs on the cardboard tube and the circles with Crayola Metallic FX Crayons and Crayola Washable Markers.

  • 3.

    Rub a Crayola Glue Stick on one end of the cardboard tube. Cover the end with a circle, fold the edges over, and secure with a rubber band.

  • 4.

    Carefully pour a handful of rice, beads, or small buttons into a small tube (use more for longer tubes). Place the second circle on the other end of the tube, glue, fold over, and secure with another rubber band.

  • 5.

    Add Crayola Glitter Glue designs to make your Sparkle & Shake. Dry.

  • 6.

    Tie a colorful ribbon over each rubber band.
