Create a Thanksgiving gratitude tree as a centerpiece for your table and celebrate thankfulness with your family!

  • 1.

With adult supervision, look outside to gather 8-10 tree sticks and about 5 fallen leaves. Wash your hands immediately for safety.

Using construction paper and crayons, lay one leaf under a piece of paper and color back and forth on the paper until the leaf pattern appears. Do this 10-15 times trying different leaves and crayon colors! If fallen leaves are not available in your area, you can use leaf print-outs or draw your own!

  • 3.

Cut out each of the leaves. Think of something to be thankful for! Then, on the back of each leaf write one gratitude item per leaf. Have an adult make small holes in each of the leaves and tie a short piece of string through each. The gratitude tree leaf ornaments are now complete!

  • 4.

Have an adult help build the tree. For the base of the tree, we recommend using a green foam floral disc available at any local craft store. Push each stick through the foam base, spreading them out into a tree formation. Decorate the base with paint or stickers. In this example, an adult lined the base with crayons for a colorfully fun Crayola look!

Once the tree is complete, hang the gratitude leaves on the branches. Place the tree on your Thanksgiving table and admire!
