Two-Toned Desk Organizer craft

Make a practical gift for someone you love or for yourself by reusing film canisters or other containers! Play with fun designs and colors to customize these handy desk accessories.

  • 1.

    Paper clips, crayons, push pins—every desk has lots of little stuff to keep organized. These little containers are perfect to keep any desk neat!

    To make two-toned holders like those shown in the picture, roll two coils of Crayola Model Magic® modeling compound. Lay the coils next to each other so that they stick together. Roll these double-coils around a film canister or other recycled container. Repeat with the other groups of colors with two or more canisters—or pick containers of different sizes for even more versatility.

    Roll three different-sized Model Magic balls. Set a film canister on top of a ball and flatten them so they are each a different height. Snuggle them together so they stick to each other.

    Choose a color or two that goes with all the colors you used. Roll a very thick coil of this and wrap around the bottom of the project to cover the balls under the canisters. Add even more decorations such as balls, shapes, or little curly coils to make a
