Encourage children to find many different objects, so each child's Matching Board is different.
2.
Demonstrate how, or help children, to measure and mark straight lines.

With a ruler, measure a large rectangle, at least 12 by 18 inches, on poster board or recycled cardboard.
5.
With Crayola® Scissors, cut out the rectangle.
6.
Choose five or six favorite objects that will fit on the poster board. Arrange them in a pleasing way.
7.
Ask a friend to hold each item as you trace around it with Crayola® Washable Markers. Put the items in a box.
8.
Exchange Matching Boards with friends, and match the items with their outlines.
