How
Crayola® Markers are Made...
|
|

STEP
1:
We
use plastic resin to make Crayola® marker barrels,
caps and end plugs. Injection molding machines form
the parts. We print the Crayola logo and other markings
on the barrels before assembly.
|
|

STEP
2:
Hoppers
hold the empty barrels on the assembly line. One machine
builds the entire marker.
|
|

STEP
3:
Reservoirs
store the ink in the markers.
|
|
STEP
4:
The back plug seals one end of
a marker.
|
|

STEP 5 :
Ink
fills the reservoir.
|
|

STEP
6 :
A
nib, or marker tip plugs the other marker end.
|
|

STEP
7 :
A
cap protects the nib and prevents the ink from drying
up. Boxes of markers contain different color assortments.
